Firstly, I would like to start with a welcome back. if you have been reading my posts, you have probably realised there have been no stories but only short texts recently. Writing can be draining and especially story telling. With life being adventurous and a lot going on I had to get breaks and recharge so we can keep surfing through. Let's hop back to the story and keep exploring.

Here we arrive in Fragokastelo. Our first sight is a big Castle. More of the stereotypical ones... square with 4 towers and banch of walls. Then we can see a huge castle looking like abandoned bar/cafe restaurant and the more we go deeper into the area the more we can see. A 'colourful' beach with bar, cafes and houses around. What makes it special though is the history of the area. We will start with the name of the castle and the area's itself. Fragokastelo means the castle of the franks. It is not accessible currently due to construciton and improvements but on the side of it we can see a couple of signs telling us a story. That of our heroes fighting against the enemies of that age who forcevely sieged the area. Whilst they were building their caslte, our heroes were in action. Day and night fighting and trying to demolish it. There goes the saying 'It is always better to die like a hero than live like a coward'.

Anymore, we find a beautiful area with a stunning beach. One of the favourite locations of locals and tourist. Crystal clear waters with sand on the beach and a lot of space to run around and enjoy. You can always try the Cretan cuisine and fresh seafood with a beautiful view of the sea.

It is 13km away from Sfakia. Which is a well known destination for Crete. Let's talk about how different the south side of Crete is compare to the Northern one. Both are beautiful in their own way. Personally, I believe the northern one is more touristic and more accesible in a way whilst the southern one hides a lot of tradition, beauty and different culture, even plants like some beautiful cactus!

I hope you have visited this Gorgeous Island as it is my favourite and if you do make sure to let me know down below. If you haven't... Not to worry. I have shared a small story but there is also the second part of our Journey. Our beautiful pictures. Those that have stories to tell. So... Enjoy!
