The first big step was done. All of a sudden, we found ourselves in the unknown. It was colder, loneliest, new culture, people were different... Even the food and that was the beginning. All this happened in September and after several months we had to change location again.
Sometimes, people that try to mentor you but it will not always work. It happens they might be overprotective or it is you that can not adapt or accept the new circumstances. It might lead to some emotions being alerted and then the last thing you want is a fast decision. Pressure will be there, ego, inexperience as well because we were young and mistakes were made. However if mistakes didn't happen we wouldn't learn. That's how we get mature and collect experience after all. This is not taught in the school by the way... You make mistakes... you are bad, a clown, people loosing faith on you and worse of all, 'an object of scorn'.
We didn't explore nearly the entire first year as it was quite unstable. There was a movement between the Highlands and Endiburgh; the capital for those who are not aware.
Every now and then, we had to escape reality and this is the way we found out about this legend. Rumors say that there was a Scottish Folklore, a dangerouss creature shape-shifting water creature that can appear on land as a horse... The Kelpie! Usually it would appear to their human victims as a grey or white horse, enticing them to ride on their back, then carry them down to a watery grave. If caught using a magic bridle, however, the kepie's immense strength can be used to safely carry passengers or to haul bast loads. Not the happiest of the stories we have heard out there. Based on this myth, we have got art being inspired... Something similar to what we do here. We travel together through photography. People got creative and let their spirits free. No fear was part of it as it is the worst enemy of art and we have got two Giant horse heads or Keplie heads. Fun fact if you are a Harry Potter fun, they do appear as their hair could be used as wand cores, though kelpie hair is regarded as substandard material for wandmaking.
If you want to find more about the Keplies or even visit the piece of art... Here you go:
