Winter or Summer !? Part.2

Writer's picture: Yannis KalafatisYannis Kalafatis

On our Latest journey together, we saw the cold or winter-ish side of my favourite place to go in Greece. How about visiting it during summer? I know it is December, which means fireplace, snow, friends, warm treats and chocolate but... Let the contrast do its part.

Lot of people choose Greece for their holiday destination. Usually they choose one of the islands as summer stands for beach, sun, cold drinks and fun. How about we see another way to spend Summer in Greece? There are places less well- known to people because they are 'Green'; next to mountainss, waterfalls, villages or countryside which is harder to be explored by non-local people. They can be found in the central part, big islands like Evia or Crete, Peloponese and the northern part of Greece. This is the reason I choose to go there often during the warmest season of the year instead of spending it on the beach. See the other side as well... During July and August, it can get very hot so it is a good way to escape. Not many people go there which makes ti quite, good food and desserts, the sound of the river, good quality fresh running water straight from the mountain so you can feel your bottles to enjoy it during your holidays and if you fancy it... You can hike as well.

With that being said let's begin our warm journey on a cold season aaaand who knows... On our next journey we might go far away as we promised!
